Fashion helps
Each year Designblok supports a benefit project. This year’s project focuses on fashion. On Monday, October 31st, the catwalk will host a unique fashion show featuring a special collection of models in designs by 12 leading Czech fashion designers. Monika Drápalová, Denisa Nová, Pavel Brejcha, Petra Ptáčková and other designers have been tasked with creating models inspired by the stories of young women unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer. Monika Koblerová, curator of the Benefashion project, explains: “The concept behind the Benefashion project is to give Czech fashion designers the brief of raising awareness (through fashion design) of the problem of breast carcinoma among very young women. Each fashion designer has created unique clothes for a specific model/patient based on her own ideas and from conversation with her.” The clothes will be presented by the patients themselves since their stories inspired the clothes.
