Hana Zárubová's most recent collection, INFINITIVE, challenges traditional fashion design and redefines a wardrobe's morphology. What exactly is it that makes a jacket, trousers, or a skirt? When does a trench coat truly become a trench coat? Hana Zárubová set out to explore these questions in her new INFINITIVE collection, where she pulls garments apart into elementary units, finds their distinctive traits, and then puts them back together in novel ways. As a result, a man's jacket sleeve may find itself attached to a woman's dress or the inner pocket of a jacket stitched on a T-shirt. In her collection, Hana Zárubová is drawn to that transformative moment before a piece of clothing is finished – when it’s still waiting to be discovered in the fabric draped on a dress form or coiled on a bolt. She assembles scattered patterns and cuts into new, reimagined clothing creations. The INFINITIVE collection is a testament to the spontaneity of discovery, where neither the creative process nor the final outcome can be predicted or meticulously planned. The INFINITIVE collection – defying categorization, much like the non-binary world of today.
